“Dearest Una, now that I have your number, I can write to you whenever I wish. XOXO, Mono”: This is how Susanna Dulkinys imagined the first message ever exchanged between fictional characters Una and Mono - the narrative backbone of the unamono brand and the source of inspiration for its various designers. It was the farewell greeting XOXO – a minimalistic typographical symbol for two hugging, kissing humans – to which Susanna was drawn when creating her tale.
Her designs for unamono are given life by the distinct and exciting contrast between historic print types – which she digitalized for the project – and the modern farewell greeting of the digital communication age.
